Sunset Monitoring Services ™
The Basics of What We Do:
Sunset Monitoring Services provides a complete selection of low priced, electronic monitoring solutions specifically configured not just to meet, but to exceed the varying and demanding needs of our diverse and unique clientele, throughout the State of Utah.
Whether our client’s monitoring service needs come about through the Criminal Justice System, or if they
come from as part of an Alcohol Abuse Treatment Program, our clients can all rest assured, Sunset Monitoring Services uses only the very highest quality, most up-to-date and accurate monitoring equipment available.
Using the monitoring industry's best equipment, combined with decades of hands on, local law enforcement
and community service experience, Sunset Monitoring Services delivers and maintains; unyielding accuracy, integrity and flexibility at the absolute best possible prices and with the most reasonable terms for payment.
The Principle Reasons for What We Do:
Sunset Monitoring Services was founded as a private company, to provide only the very highest quality, and lowest cost, electronic monitoring services, such as; Voice Recognition Presence Monitoring, Radio Frequency (RF) ankle-bracelet Curfew Monitoring, in-home and remotely monitored Breath-Alcohol Testing/Monitoring and of course, GPS ankle-bracelet tracking/monitoring.
Many of the monitoring products and services we provide, were originally conceived and designed to be used
by the criminal courts and various community corrections programs throughout the world as alternatives to traditional incarceration. These kinds of electronic monitoring services, have for years, allowed low to moderate risk and non-violent offenders to pay their debts to society while they continue to stay employed and more critically, while they maintain crucial family support relationships, so in part, this enables and encourages the offender to pay their court ordered fines and even more importantly to pay their victims, the financial restitution the offender may owe.
By encouraging and enabling offenders who are employed, to remain employed and productive, and by helping to prevent them from becoming “institutionalized”, and/or alienated from society and their families, and by not exposing them to the influence of the more hardened criminal population, who must be incarcerated, recidivism and criminal escalation can be markedly reduced. The monetary expenses to the community are greatly reduced as well from the start, since the financial burden, for all practical purposes, is as it should be, born entirely by the offender, who created the expense in the first place.
Some Other Important Service Applications:
Over the course of time, a few companies, such as ours, have recognized how the practical application of some of these same proven, time-tested and effective electronic monitoring services, can easily and effectively be adapted to help with some of the various needs of certain, under-served segments of our society. We do this inpart, by providing very reliable and accurate, remotely monitored, breath-alcohol testing and monitoring as a supplemental tool for comprehensive, alcohol abuse treatment programs.
Some electronic monitoring companies have have introduced a variation on GPS tracking/monitoring, which may be helpful for those with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Memory Loss, Brain Trauma or many other forms of cognitive disorders, as well as for families who could use some assistance in keeping track of loved-ones with Autism, Down Syndrome or any other factor, which may result in their loved-ones tending to lose focus and possibly wandering off, or for whatever reason, may require extra close and careful monitoring by care givers.
The Founding of Sunset Monitoring Services:
Sunset Monitoring Services was originally conceived and created, to fill the void, which came about when the State of Utah Department of Corrections, Division of Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) discontinued nearly all of the State Managed, Electronic Offender Monitoring Program in the early part of 2009.
Sunset Monitoring Services' company founder is a retired probation/parole officer, having served as an agent with the State of Utah Department of Corrections, Division of Adult Probation and Parole (AP&P) for over 22 years. For the final several years of his career, our founder headed up the electronic offender monitoring program within the Salt Lake County area. During that time, he had noticed several companies in the private sector were charging outrageous fees for relatively inexpensive monitoring equipment. With the State of Utah practically out of the business of providing Electronic Monitoring Services and with the private sector charging unreasonable fees, our company founder noticed the Utah Courts were starting to move away from these valuable tools.
Our company founder retired from the Utah Department of Corrections and began to use his contacts with the very best equipment manufacturers, to start Sunset Monitoring Services. Soon thereafter, he brought a trusted business associate on board, who also brings well over a dozen years of highly trained, dedicated and expert law enforcement/corrections experience, as well as several years of financial services industry experience to our company. Just about one year later, our company founder brought on-board, still another trusted business associate who had also retired as an AP&P agent. This new business associate had, at that time, been managing a local competitor's monitoring business. This new colleague had become very frustrated with this competitor's extremely high prices and their inability to consistently deliver the high quality of products and services Sunset Monitoring Services has become known for. Together, these three professionals with their decades of combined, hands-on experience in local corrections/law enforcement service, have pooled their knowledge and expertise to oversee a very highest quality, LOWEST COST electronic monitoring services business in Utah, which is capable of fulfilling all of the various needs of our company's clientele.
Sunset Monitoring Services is strongly committed to our original foundations and ideals. We continue to be exclusively owned and entirely operated by formerly sworn, local and state law enforcement personnel. Each one of our staff members has a significant background involving professional corrections experience and has spent their original career dedicated to public safety and the pursuit of justice. Because of this, our company is able to easily integrate our offender monitoring operations seamlessly, with state and local community corrections agencies as well as the local courts system. Our numerous years of experience in serving the communities in which we’ve worked, also gives us the background, knowledge and unmatched experience necessary to provide the very highest quality and most reliable, professional electronic monitoring and tracking services as well as the very best personal safety tracking products and services available, at the absolute lowest possible prices.
What Sets Us Apart From Our Peers:
Sunset Monitoring Services is not now, nor do we desire to ever become, anything even closely resembling an unwieldy, mega-giant corporation. We are now, and will continue to be, a local, community based company, with experienced and professional, local law enforcement roots. We know and understand the communities we serve, very well. With our hometown approach to business, we remain small enough to be familiar with every one of our monitoring service clients individually. When one of our current clients calls Sunset Monitoring Services on the telephone, sends us a text message or an e-mail, we know immediately, exactly who they are and what service we are providing for them. None of our clients will ever need to worry that they’ll get lost in the shuffle of an enormous and difficult to manage client base. Because that’s just not how we operate.
As a local, community based resource, for the kinds of professional services we provide, our primary objective is to make the entire process as simple and effective as possible for all who may be or become involved. We feel the core value in what we do, is the simplicity and effectiveness of our professional operational methods, accompanied by the fact that our very low program costs, make our services accessible and available to anyone who’s interested or in need of them. We hope and believe these factors, along with the many other benefits to society, of the services we provide, will result in our company becoming a highly utilized and valuable tool for our communities to rely upon and to continue to benefit from, for many, many years yet to come.
Sunset Monitoring Services recognizes it is imperative we keep the expenses to all of our various clients at an absolute minimum. Therefore, we've kept the average daily cost for any of our services, to about the same as a “combo-meal” at a fast-food drive through. Sunset Monitoring Services is un-yieldingly committed to delivering the best possible services and maintaining the absolute lowest possible expenses to our clients, regardless of the much higher prices, which many of our competitors continue to charge, for similar or lesser quality products and services. Because we are truly committed to delivering our products and services at the lowest possible prices, we promise to meet or beat any competitor's price for the same or substantially similar product or service within the State of Utah!
