Details:
Our basic GPS Monitoring System is a very convenient, wearable, one-piece unit, which is configured for passive/active/hybrid (historic/real-time) GPS & Cellular Signal location tracking and monitoring. This service option is an excellent choice for 24x7 location monitoring, either with or without a home-detention curfew schedule. It is especially good for situations, in which the monitored person is required to stay away from certain locations, but where alcohol monitoring is not necessary.
Sunset Monitoring Services offers a differing variety of passive/active/hybrid Basic GPS configurations which serve as excellent solutions for diminished capacity adults with Alzheimer’s, Dementia, Memory Loss or Brain Trauma etc. They're also great for monitoring children or adults with Autism, Down Syndrome or any other situation where wandering may be an issue of concern.
This is how it works:
When a client has been ordered to house arrest with GPS location tracking/monitoring by the court. The client or referring probation/parole agency should contact Sunset Monitoring Services right away. We will help the client sort through the details of their court order and to select the best, most cost effective monitoring device, which complies with the orders of the court. If that solution is our Basic GPS Monitor, we will schedule an appointment to come to the client’s location to install the ankle-bracelet GPS monitoring device.
The device will be pre-configured according to orders of the court and any requirements of the referring agency.
We will add the clients address to our web based database as an Inclusion Zone. That means within specified times of the day, the client is only allowed to stay within the allotted area. We can add other Inclusion zones to include; work, school counselor's offices or any other place the client is allowed to be and we can set these inclusion zones to be allowed only at certain times as well. If there are areas the client is ordered to stay away from, such as a domestic violence victim’s home address and/or work place, bars, schools, parks, malls, etc., we will add those addresses or locations to our web based database as Exclusion Zones. That means the client is NOT allowed in these specific areas.
From there, we add specific protocols regarding who to notify and how to notify them in the event of a violation. Generally, we specify protocols for house arrest violations to trigger internal an alarm, which is not audible, does not make the ankle-bracelet vibrate or cause the LED lights to flash on the ankle-bracelet. However any or all of these options can be employed at the request of the responsible agency either the moment a client leaves his/her allotted area, comes within a dis-allowed proximity to a restricted area or upon demand to notify the offender to call the monitoring center.
With our web based software, we are able to establish an event history to document compliance/non-compliance and prove the whereabouts of the client. The event history report, shows the client’s location every few minutes for a set time frame.
We realize most clients will require a report for their subsequent court hearings. We will gladly run a report with detailed notes for the requested time frames. For instance, if a client was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest, we run a report for that specific time period. Our report will show a complete verification of the client’s whereabouts for those 90 days.
This is how it works:
When the care giver of a person has observed the person being cared for, has exhibited signs they may tend to wander off. Or the care giver may be concerned of the many possible dire consequences for the person being cared for, should they wander away. The care giver should contact Sunset Monitoring Services right away. We will conduct a complimentary, no obligations, evaluation of the situation to help the care giver determine if one of our GPS monitoring products is an appropriate and viable solution for their particular situation. If GPS monitoring is viable, we will either ship one of our easy to use, do it yourself GPS monitors, directly to your location along with the very simple and easy to understand instructions and of course we would provide access to our toll-free, 24x7 customer support contact number; or if the situation is more appropriate, we would come directly to the client’s location in person, to place one of our secure, one-piece ankle-bracelet GPS monitoring devices on the monitored person's ankle and begin our professionally managed monitoring service. If GPS monitoring is not the best solution for your situation, we'll help you with suggestions regarding other, more appropriate ideas tailored toward your situation.
If GPS monitoring is chosen, any of the devices we offer can be configured according to the specifications of the care giver. The client's address and/or several other locations, can be programed into our web based database as Inclusion Zones. These inclusion zones can be large or small and can be customized in various other ways. As long as the monitored person remains within the specified inclusion zone(s), the monitoring device will track that person in the passive mode and will simply indicate the monitored person is where they are supposed to be.
As part of the GPS monitoring service, specific protocols can be established regarding who to notify and how to notify them in the event of a wandering occurrence (text message, telephone call, e-mail, etc.). Generally, the standard protocol simply triggers an internal alarm, which causes a small LED light on the unit to flash as soon as a monitored person leaves his/her allotted area. An immediate notification is also sent to the care giver, per their previously established specifications.
In the case of a wandering event, the monitor immediately switches to an active, real-time GPS tracking mode. This system is capable of tracking wherever both a GPS and Cellular Signal can be established. With our web based software, the care giver can begin tracking the monitored person's whereabouts in real-time from virtually any internet connection including a smart phone (such as an iPhone, Blackberry, Palm Smart Phone, etc). If the care giver cannot access the internet for whatever reason, they can simply call us toll free for assistance. Once communication with the care giver can be established, we'll use the information on our web portal, to guide the care giver to the client's location. The web-portal is available whenever an incident takes place, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
